Open House Editing - affordable rates

You've put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears (and maybe a few Xanax), into writing your masterpiece. You've edited it, and edited it again, and edited it some more. Perhaps some of your friends have read it and told you how much they love it. Maybe one or two of them have even pointed out a misspelled word or place where you should have put that dreaded comma and didn't. So, now you think you're ready to go straight to publishing.

Wait a minute there my friend. You are skipping a major step in the writing process: editing. I know you've already edited your manuscript or other writing until you just about can't stand reading through it one more time, but you still need someone with a fresh set of eyes, someone who knows and understands all of the rules and regulations that govern the world of the written word, to take a look just to make sure it is as close to perfect as it can be. For a first-time writer, I'm sure this is not an expense you may have added into your shoestring budget. Even if you're an old pro and have published many works, you still may not believe this is an important step. In fact, it is one of the most important steps in the process of publishing any written work.

If you're putting your name on it, shouldn't it be the absolute best it can be? Don't you want it to be something you can be really proud of? That's where an editor comes into play. Depending upon the type of editing you're looking for, editors can check for misspelled words, grammatical errors, if your writing flows smoothly, and for continuity, among many other things. You make the magic happen when you write, and an editor adds the fairy dust to make it all sparkly and pretty.

Why Choose Open House Editing?

It's very simple. Choose Open House Editing because you want someone who will be on time. You want someone who will stick to the agreed upon budget. You want someone who is honest and won't share any of your information with anyone. You want someone who is available to you via email and responds within 24 hours or less to your messages. Perhaps most importantly, you want someone who will keep your voice in your writing.

What People Are Saying

Since I began writing I have leaned on Crystal and her editing. Not only is she good at what she does but she is brutally honest where it is really needed. It is hard to find someone that will read your book and give you a multipurpose view of it.
I would recommend her to anyone who really wants to improve their writing. It is easy to look at your own book and say it is just the best thing you have ever read, but it is more difficult to figure out if everyone else will see it that way.

The End of the Beginning (Crypto & Co. Guardians of Life), The Beginning of the Downfall (Crypto & Co.), The Beginning of War (Crypto & Co.), The Night at the Lorelei (Crypto & Co. Volume 1). The Dark Revenge (Crypto & Co. Volume 2), Follow the Blood (Crypto & Co. Volume 3), Queen of Blood (Crypto & Co. Volume 4)
I was in dire need of an affordable editor, and Crystal Schall was my life-saver. Not only are her prices fair, she is generous with her time and provides an amazingly fast turn around. She provides not only essential line-by-line edits, but also margin commentary regarding the story's logic and continuity. To top it off, she also provides very helpful notes as an objective reader. She will tell you what works and what doesn't, but doesn't pressure you into making changes you don't want to make. As a person, Crystal is kind, supportive, and trustworthy. At no point during the editing process did I feel as though there was no hope of getting certain problems fixed. I always knew I had her in my corner, and that's a nice thing to have as a new writer testing the waters. I certainly intend on using her services again, and highly recommend her.

The Hunt for Elsewhere
No matter how many times a writer reads her/his manuscript, there seems to be an error not noticed. The best of writers may not catch these glitches. Sending it to a copy editor will catch those errors. I recommend  Crystal Schall.  I found her talented expertise, and reliability of getting it back on time had led me to call on her for each of my books.
