Tag! You're IT blog hop

Thanks so very much to Lelani Black for tagging me to take part in the Tag, You're IT blog hop.  I get to share a few tid-bits about my current work in progress, and tag three other authors, and invite them to answer the same questions for their Monday blogs.  They then tag 3 more authors, and so on and so forth, till it's one great big giant Tag-Along!  Sound good?  Here goes!

What are you working on right now?

The Briton and the Dane: Timeline is the fifth novel in the series.

Dr. Gwyneth Franger is a renowned expert in early medieval England who is set upon learning the truth about the death of Lord Erik, the last descendant of the powerful House of Wareham.

Her quest becomes an obsession, a condition which began with the discovery of a portrait of the tall and valiant warrior with which she forms an extraordinary and inexplicable bond.

Dr. Franger finds herself transported back to the Dark Ages and at the side of the noble Lord Erik who commands an army of elite Saxon warriors, a swift and mobile force able to deploy quickly throughout the kingdom to ward off invaders.

Will Gwyneth stop the assassins? Is she strong enough to walk away and watch her beloved Erik die? Or will she intervene, change the course of history and wipe out an entire timeline to save the man she loves with all her heart?

How does it differ from other works in its genre?

This story is set in two different timelines, 2066 and 1062.  In this novel, we delve into the mindset of a modern woman whose knowledge of historical events threatens the course of recorded history.  When presented with an option to use 21st century medical procedures, she could alter the timeline, but in good conscience, how could she not interfere?  A timeless dilemma for which there are no easy answers.

Why do you write what you do?

My love of history is transparent as witnessed in my novels.  By breathing life into characters referenced in text books, I hope to interest my readers in learning about people who lived centuries ago.  While it is boring to have to memorize dates to pass a test, it is easier to remember what happened when it did, if the people become real - living, breathing men and women who had experienced every motion we feel today.  Step into my world and enjoy the adventure.

Here are the 3 authors I've tagged for this hop:

Margaret Arvanitis
Bill Jones, Jr.
Elise VanCise
