commonly accepted as the beginning of the Scandinavian invasion of England.
1042 Harthacanute, King of Denmark and England died.
1191 Richard the
Lion-Hearted of England arrived at the port of Acre in the Holy Land during the
third Crusade. He captured Acre, but could not recapture Jerusalem from the
Turks.
